Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte ‘accidentally’ left his mic on while he was speaking to an aide during budget negotiations. The incident occurred after the European Commission requested that the Italian contingent return to Rome and consider other approaches to creating a 2019 fiscal plan with a deficit less than 2% of GDP.

In a very relaxed tone of voice, Conte then said, “Puoi andare a fanculo.” Which translates to, “You can go fuck yourselves.” The aide quickly informed Conte that his mic was still on and he was speaking into the auto-translator. The EC representatives appeared bemused at the comment.

Conte then continued talking to his aide, “Oh is that so? Then perhaps I’ll switch to English so nothing is lost in translation. These dogfuckers think they can dictate financial terms to Italy? They are sorely mistaken. Our budget deficit is under 3% of GDP, that’s the rule, so they can kiss my sweet Italian ass.” He then turned to the commission and politely said, “I hope you understood all of that.”

At which point the representative from Sweden addressed his colleague from Denmark also with his mic open, “It’s refreshing to speak in candid terms. I hope this hairy lover of pigs understands that when his country needs a loan, we’ll tell him to go fuck a canoli. Must be nice working four hours a day and then cruising around on Vespas, while the rest of us actually work for a living.”

At a press conference after the meeting, the commissioner said, “Talks are progressing nicely. I think the tone is positive.” Conte was last seen exiting the budget meeting as he climbed into his Ferrari with an Italian supermodel at the wheel.
