Everyone who has ever bought weed, smoked weed, or seen any movie or TV show that even tangentially involves selling drugs, knows the Golden Rule of weed selling, say it with me now, “Never get high on your own supply,” brah.

However, Canada-based Moonstoned Cannabis, Inc., seems to have forgotten this essential rule of ganja distribution. Following the recent trend of Cannabis companies that have brought activist investors onboard in order to help with financing, streamlining, and strategy, Moonstoned welcomed billionaire activist investor Sigmund Greene onto their board. But it wasn’t long before Greene’s motives and value to the company were brought into question.

Sean Hubbert, lead grower at Moonstone, had this to say, “Dude, that guy just wants free product. We gave him the tour on his first day, handed him some samples of our various strains, and he seemed very professional. Dude was back two days later asking for a quarter pound of Silverado Sativa. For free! He has a billion dollars in the bank and he wants some free smoke.”

William “Mookster” Harris, longtime Toronto-based pot dealer shared this perspective from his years in industry, “Man, I’ll tell you what…so check it out, this one time, about ten years ago, before weed was legal, back in the golden days as I like to say…check it out, I had this guy used to buy from me once a week, now I know this dude had cash because he always came ‘round on a Tuesday. Tuesday’s are important because that was the day my old lady had to go to the clinic...so check it out. Where was I? Oh right, rich people are the biggest moochers — that’s just a known fact.”
